Meet Steffi Graf and Andre Agassi's 2 Kids: All About Son Jaden and Daughter Jaz

Although Andre Agassi and Steffi Graf had a lot in common even before they tied the knot in 2001, their children have given them infinitely more to share.

In October 2001, the famous tennis couple welcomed their first child, son Jaden Gil Agassi. Two years later, in October 2003, Steffi gave birth to their daughter Jaz Elle Agassi.

Andre recalled in his autobiography Open that his own father was incredibly strict, longing for him to become a professional athlete. “My father shouts everything twice, sometimes three times, sometimes ten”, he wrote. “Harder, he says, harder. Strike early. Hell Andre, strike early, collect the ball, collect the ball.”

Much later, when the time came for them to become parents of their own children, Andre and Steffi chose a different path: “We never brought tennis into their lives that much. They chose other things,” said Steffi.

In conversation with 2024 USA TodayAndre firmly held one of his views on parenting. “The idea that a parent would ascribe to a child the right to be loved in this world based on their performance is a tragedy,” he explained. “What someone has to do to be a pro at 16 is crazy, isn’t it?”

Here’s everything you need to know about Andre Agassi and Steffi Graf’s two children, Jaden and Jaz.

Born and raised in Las Vegas, Jaden grew up out of the spotlight, but never far from his parents. In an interview with S. 2024 WSJ. MagazineAndre said that his treasured necklace was made of beads that Jaden had made for him.

“When he was 4 years old, he asked me to help him. [He said] ‘I want to make this, I want to write, ‘Daddy Rock’. I’ve never taken it off, but it’s broken and it’s getting [fixed]”, he said.

According to his father, Jaden slowly learned while growing up that his mom and dad were famous.

Andre told PEOPLE 2024: “You go through a whole phase where they’re like, ‘Well, this doesn’t make sense for people to come forward like there’s a big deal.’ And then they start to agree why it’s a big deal.”

He continued, “They’re starting to realize that they’re looking behind the curtain of The Wizard of Oz and they’re realizing that it’s not all. So there’s a healthy balance that’s inevitable throughout the process.”

But while Jaden may not have thought the tennis star was “all that,” he has carved his own path in baseball.

In 2019, Jaden signed with the University of Southern California. In a photo he shared on Instagram, Steffi and Andre were pictured standing proudly behind him.

In 2023, his junior year at USC, Jaden appeared in 13 games and started nine.

The younger child of tennis legends, daughter Jaz Ella Agassi, was born on October 3, 2003.

Also born and raised in Las Vegas, Jaz leads an even more private life than her older brother. Andre revealed in his book that after Jaz was born, he and Steffi made a private vow that Jaz – like Jaden – would not play tennis.

“It’s a weird sport,” Andre said Fox Sports. “We don’t see too many second-generation players. For us, it’s about raising our children in such a way that we can participate in their lives and not always worry about their lives.”

Jaz is a dancer, but also a rider. It’s clear from her Instagram that she loves spending time outdoors, enjoying everything from snowboarding to making “cow friends” on the farm.
