Meghan Markle and Prince Harry add another chapter to their story in Canada.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex spend time in Vancouver and Whistler for 2025. Invictus games, which will run from February 8 to February 16. Prince Harry, who served in the British army, founded an international adaptive sports tournament for the wounded, injured and sick official staff and veterans in 2014. After the London (2014) cycle, Orlando (2016), Toronto (2017) and Sydney (2018), Hague (when Covid-19 pushed the event in 2022) and Düsseldorf (2023), this year’s competition will be the first time that Invictus games returned to the previous host country.
Canada was often a setting for special moments between Harry and Meghan.
After the 2016 meeting, Prince Harry regularly visited Toronto, where California Meghan lived while she was recording Suits. Immediately before their romance was discovered to the public, the couple celebrated the Halloween in Toronto together, went an unrecognized party at the apocalypse with Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank.
“If it’s an apocalypse, I thought, bring the end of the world,” Prince Harry wrote in his memoir, Spare.

Meghan and Harry appeared their first official appearance on the pair at Invictus Games 2017 in Toronto. After Meghan supported her then boyfriend from the opening ceremony, the couple went out in hand to take some tennis in a wheelchair.
They were again observed at the ceremony of closing the events. Harry was joined by Meghan and her mother Doria Ragland in a private box at the Air Canada Center to watch performers like Bruce Springsteen, Bryan Adams and Kelly Clarkson. At one point, the prince was seen giving her girlfriend a kiss on the cheek at the time!
Exclusively speaking to the people of 2022, Prince Harry shared a key role that the Invictus games played on his trip with Meghan.
“Nowhere can you feel more accepted and supported than with the Invictus family,” he said. “Toronto games were our first time and publicly in an official way. We hung out at the time, so there was a lot to enter, but luckily, we were with the perfect community for that.”

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex spent their first holiday season as three family – after welcomed their son in 2019, Prince Archie – on Vancouver Island. In January 2020, the duo appeared in Canada in London, where they met Janice Charette, a high border commissioner to show gratitude for what the Para’s Office said was “warm Canadian hospitality and support they received during the recent residence .
They then stayed in Canada in early 2020, when they announced that they were leaving their role roles. In March that year, they moved to Los Angeles, staying at Tyler Perry’s house before moving to Montecito.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex returned to Canada several times in the 2025 invictus game. In November 2023, the couple surprised the performance at the Vancouver Canucks hockey game to promote the event. Prince Harry climbed to the ice and made the festive first to descend before the match between Vancouver Canucks and San Jose Sharks, just as his grandmother Queen Elizabeth made 21 years before.

Meghan and Prince Harry returned to British Colombia in February 2024. Because of the Invictus Games Vancouver-Histler’s one-year celebration. They checked a winter training camp that has introduced teams from around the world to new winter sports, which will be introduced to the Invictus Games 2025. With the previous sports offered, this year’s event will include alpine skiing, snowboarding, biathlon, Nordic skiing, skeleton and wheelchair for the first time.
