Meghan Markle is joining the fun at the Invictus Games!
Meghan and Prince Harry came to watch one of the latest competitions at the 2023 event in Düsseldorf, Germany on Wednesday morning, where they met some of the competitors in the Ukraine-Australia wheelchair basketball competition before taking their seats in the stands — and participated in the celebratory group wave.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were spotted talking to them, signing autographs and posing for photos with competitors and spectators on the outing.
Meghan, 42, and Harry, 38, also watched the children’s event, handing out medals and high-fiving the young participants.

While speaking to Team Australia, Prince Harry received a special gift: “budgie smugglers” – the Australian term for Speedos – with the flags of the competing nations.
“It wouldn’t be the #InvictusGames if the Aussies didn’t present our patron, the Duke of Sussex, with a lovely piece of swimwear!” the foundation wrote a Photography the Duke of Sussex holding up a revealing piece of clothing, Meghan smiling at the sight.

The gag has become a bit of a tradition at the Invictus Games. In 2019, Harry wrote a letter to wheelchair tennis player Dylan Alcott saying his swimwear “came in handy” during the UK heatwave.
The couple also spent time with the Nigerian team, which Harry said Meghan supported in his opening speech on Saturday.
“I’m not saying we play favorites in our home, but since my wife discovered she’s of Nigerian descent, she’ll probably get little a little more competitive this year,” he joked, mentioning how Meghan revealed she is 43% Nigerian thanks to a genealogy test, which she revealed in October 2022.

Nigeria, along with Colombia and Israel, are new participants this year.

According to Hello! magazine, the couple was presented with a Chief of Defense plaque and Meghan was nicknamed “Amira Ngozi Lolo.” Amira is the name of a legendary warrior princess, while Ngozi means “blessed” and Lolo means “royal wife”.

The Düsseldorf event is the sixth Invictus Games, following previous events in London, Orlando, Sydney, The Hague and Toronto — where Meghan and Harry made their first public appearance as a couple in 2017.
The adaptive sports competition for injured, sick and wounded personnel and veterans is Harry’s brainchild and was established in 2014.
After initially appearing alone at the 2023 event, Harry reunited with Meghan after she flew into Dusseldorf from Los Angeles on Tuesday. They are expected to remain in Germany until the closing ceremony of the Games on Saturday, which follows Harry’s 39th birthday on Friday.

“It’s so special to be here and I’m so sorry I’m a little late to the party,” Meghan said at a special party for family and friends shortly after her arrival on Tuesday, before revealing the couple’s children Prince Archie, 4, and Princess Lilibet, 2, were partly responsible for the delay.
“Just like many of you, we know it’s about family and friends and the community that Invictus has created, that the House of Fischer has created, so I’ve had to spend a little more time getting our little ones home,” the Duchess of Cambridge added in her speech. Sussex.
“I get a milkshake, I go to school and then I landed a few hours ago. I am delighted that the first event I can organize with Invictus is here with you all.”

“I was lucky enough to go and visit one of their houses in Los Angeles just a few weeks ago and I was very moved by everything they do. “As they understand, as you do, as my husband does in creating the Invictus Games, how important the value of rehabilitation is not just as a solitary experience, but as a family,” Meghan said.
It is understood the pair will take part in further events at the Games later on Wednesday
