Meghan Markle Misses Prince Harry’s Awards Ceremony After One of Their Kids Became Ill

Meghan Markle did not attend Prince Harry’s induction into Living Legends of Aviation on Friday after one of their children fell ill, PEOPLE understands.

Meghan, 42, was expected to attend the 21st annual ceremony in Los Angeles with her husband, but ultimately did not. The Duke of Sussex, 39, attended alone as one of four people to be inducted into the Living Legends of Aviation, with host John Travolta presenting him with the honour.

Meghan and Harry have a son, Prince Archie (4), and a daughter, Princess Lilibet (2).

Travolta, the “official ambassador of aviation,” placed the award around Harry’s neck on Friday night, according to a video shared on social media. “This is nice,” Harry said, drawing laughter from the crowd.

The Duke of Sussex then joked that Travolta had told “everyone here” about the dance and would continue to “dinner out on it”.
