“I don’t think they care that I’m a Spice Girl,” replies Mel B, laughing. “I mean, I was playing my music the other day before we went to see Hamilton, and I said, ‘Hey guys, who do you think this is?’ And they said, ‘I don’t know, is that Lady Gaga?’ I said, ‘No.'”

“‘What’s that music, Mom?” I said, ‘We wrote the Spice Girls’ music.’ They said, ‘Really?'” she remembers.

“But I think I’m kind of cool with their friends,” says Mel B.

The singer is the mother of daughters Phoenix (24), Angel (16) and Madison (12).

In December 2022, the singer’s eldest child, Phoenix, posted a photo of herself on Instagram in which she recreated three of her mom’s iconic Scary Spice looks from her Spice Girls days.

For one of her outfits, Phoenix referred to the group’s 1996 music video “Say You’ll Be There.” Dressed in a leopard print bra, black mini skirt, combat boots and silver jewelry, she struck several powerful poses in the desert-like setting.

Her second look, inspired by the pop star’s 1997 cover of “Spice Up Your Life,” was more colorful with baggy patchwork pants and a matching bra.

The final stop on Phoenix’s tour of her mom’s closet was a metallic gold two-piece set, matching arm cuffs and space buns, pulled from The world of spices movie poster from 1997
