Melissa Joan Hart Remembers Sabrina the Teenage Witch Costar Martin Mull After His Death: 'Such Fond Memories'

Melissa Joan Hart pays tribute to her ex Sabrina the teenage witch costar and friend, Martin Mull.

Mull’s daughter, Maggie Mull, broke the news of the actor’s death in a touching Instagram post on Friday, June 28. He was 80 years old.

Hart, 48, later reflected on her memories with Mull via Instagram. He appeared in more than 70 episodes of the sitcom under the direction of Hart as principal Willard Kraft from 1997 to 2000.

Reflecting on their off-camera relationship, Hart posted a throwback photo of her and Mull posing together in costume on set.

“Rest in peace my friend. The amazing #MartinMull (Kraft director) has left us for his eternal rest,” she began in the caption, adding: “I have such fond memories of working with him and admiring his vast body of work which included before #SabrinaTheTeemageWitch #Roseanne and #MrMom as projects I knew him from.”

She hailed Mull for his appearances on “big shows as well as feature and animation films” following his time on Sabrina.

Mull has also appeared and starred in shows such as Two and a half Men, Arrested development, Ranch and Cool Kids. He received an Emmy nomination for his guest role in Veep 2016. His film credits include A clue, A distant man and Mrs. Doubtfire. Recently he was a guest in I’m not dead yet Grace and Frankie and After party.

In her tribute on Instagram, Hart shared how Mull explained why he took on so many roles.

“He once told me that he would only accept any job offered to him in case the train stopped, which in this business tends to stop quickly,” Hart wrote. “He was an artist who loved to paint and build things with his hands, a musician and a wonderful man that I know better.”

The actress ended by saying that the world is a better place thanks to Mull.

“We will miss him, but this world benefited from his existence,” she wrote. “My deepest condolences to his family and friends. I will continue to cherish the Martin Mull artwork that hangs in my home!”
