“The continued success of the special surprised me as much as anyone,” Schulz said TV guide 1985. “Many Drawings Are Terrible.”
In 2020, Apple TV+ got the rights to the favorite peanut catalog, meaning that Charlie Brown and Friends will no longer make an annual appearance on network television.

In order to get Charlie Brown out of his holiday slump, Lucy suggests that he needs to be involved and appoints him director of the school Christmas play. He also tasks him with finding the perfect tree. Meanwhile, Linus takes a different approach and shares his birth story with Charlie Brown.
The 30-minute animated special brings to light the real reason for the season, and Charlie Brown ends up teaching the gang a thing or two about friendship and gratitude.
