Michael graduated from Good Shepherd International School, Ooty and later joined PSG College of Arts and Science, Coimbatore to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (June 24, 2013 – May 3, 2016). Michael excelled in sports from a young age. During college, he was a national-level basketball player. Ajay wanted to take up basketball as a career, however, a drunk driver hit him, causing him to break his ankle. He had to undergo major surgery to repair three ruptured tendons. Afterwards, he was bedridden for about four months. During this period, Michael suffered from depression. In his second year of college, Michael did a three-month summer internship at investment bank Goldman Sachs in Bangalore.

Michael started his career as a part-time writing consultant at EF Englishtown (now EF English Live) in Bangalore in 2013. He worked there till June 2016. In 2017, Michael joined Transformation Tribe Fitness in Bangalore as a personal trainer. Michael has shot print ads for many brands like Ajio Life.
