Michael Easton Says Farewell to General Hospital After 10 Years: 'I've Loved Every Minute'

Michael Easton says goodbye to General Hospital after decades of soap opera acting.

The actor, 57, expressed his gratitude to the show’s cast and crew in a video post on Instagram on June 26, just a day before his final episode aired.

“I’ve always been partial to the Irish bye,” Easton said. “That’s where you leave the party without actually telling anyone you’re gone. But I thought you all deserved better, so I just wanted to let you know that I just filmed my last scenes here on General Hospital.”

“I loved every minute I spent here,” he continued. “I want to thank the entire cast and crew for allowing me to share their stage for the past 10 years. Most importantly, I want to thank all of you for the kindness and love you have shown me and my family. I will never forget you. And as I walk here for the last time, and with apologies to the great Lou Gehrig, I feel like the luckiest man on the face of the Earth.”

The actor wrote a short and sweet caption with the video: “Thank you for your kindness. My heart is filled with love and gratitude. #gh #goodbye”

Easton joined General Hospital 2012 from One life to live, where he played John McBain. During his run on GH, Easton appeared in more than 940 episodes like Hamilton Finn and other characters.

With Easton’s departure from the show, two familiar faces return, including five-time Daytime Emmy winner Jonathan Jackson, who reprises his role as Lucky Spencer, and Bryan Craig, who returns as Morgan Corinthos in the August episode.
