Michael Strahan’s daughter Isabella Strahan has started physical therapy after her first round of chemotherapy for a brain tumor.
On Friday, the 19-year-old student and model released the tenth installment of her YouTube series, sharing her health journey after undergoing emergency surgery to remove a large medulloblastoma — a type of malignant tumor — in her cerebellum in October.
In the role, Isabella returned home after treatment. Opening Valentine’s gifts and handmade letters from the Scarlett Fund, which raises awareness of pediatric cancer research, she spoke about how she spends her days in recovery.
“I slept a lot. Two days ago I didn’t leave my room. I had a fever,” she said in the video. “You were supposed to go to the hospital if you had 100.4 twice, but mine was 100.2 so that means I didn’t have to go. And it fell, but I felt so awful so I just stayed in bed. Usually my days.”
“I have two doctor’s appointments a week to have my blood drawn,” she continued. “I had one yesterday and I actually don’t mind the blood draw anymore. I take that back. Things could be worse…like my jaw pain.”

Isabella noted that most days are uneventful for her, especially after dealing with the painful side effects of chemotherapy. She said she tries to go for walks, stretch and do physical therapy.
In the clip, Isabella also showed off a bit of her home physical therapy as she worked on balance, which is often affected by the treatment.
“It’s been a week and a half out and I’m feeling better today,” she said. “I don’t leave the house every day, except for appointments, so it’s not much fun.”
Earlier this week, her father Michael Strahan revealed Isabella was “struggling” with treatment after a minor problem sent her back to hospital.
“The last three days have been a bit difficult because she’s had a fever that comes and goes,” he said Good morning America the co-host, 52, said on air. “I had to take her to the hospital and I thought she would come home a few hours later… It’s been three days but I hope she’ll be home today.”

Although Isabella struggled with chemotherapy symptoms, Strahan said his daughter didn’t face anything that wasn’t “expected.” He added that he is doing the best he can despite watching her go through these difficult times.
“It’s hard to see her go through that, but I know she’s a tough young lady and she’ll pull through,” he said.
Strahan said it was rewarding for Isabella to document her journey in her YouTube series, which she started to benefit Duke Children’s Hospital and Health Center.
“I think so many people have reached out to her and said, ‘I’m glad you’re doing this,’ ‘Thank you for doing this,’ ‘This has really helped us,’ and all that support she’s getting from people she doesn’t know, on top of the people she knows, it’s kept her in a very positive space,” he said. “So thank you all.”
