The O’Neill Institute is pleased to announce that faculty member Michele Bratcher Goodwin will join the organization in 2019. She has a background in anthropology, sociology, and law, having conducted fieldwork in Asia, Africa, Europe, and the Americas. from North.
He is recognized for influencing discourse in the disciplines of health law and biotechnology law. His research has helped shape new perspectives on civil liberties, assisted reproductive technologies, reproductive health, rights, and justice.
An acclaimed author, influential thinker, and podcast host, Goodwin contributes research and insights to a variety of national and international media through commentary, interviews, and opinion pieces. Michele will be a great asset to the School and the Institute, lifting us all to new heights of brilliance, in my opinion.

Goodwin is the founding director of the Center for Biotechnology and Global Health Policy and a Chancellor’s Professor at the University of California, Irvine. He currently works as the Abraham Pinanski Visiting Professor at Harvard Law School.
She began work as a visiting professor at the Georgetown University Law Center in the fall of 2022. She previously participated in roundtable discussions hosted by the O’Neill Institute on the domestic and international ramifications of Dobbs v. Jackson as a leading expert on reproductive rights. and racial justice.
