Career of Michelle Owen
Michelle Owen is a British sports presenter and television presenter. She has worked her way up in the industry from the very early days of hospital and student radio to roles at commercial stations including Capital FM and TalkSport.
The beginning of a career
Owen was born in Cardiff, Wales in 1982. She studied journalism at the University of Wales in Newport and began her career in radio at the Wythenshawe Hospital radio station. She then moved to student radio station XFM, before landing a job at commercial station Capital FM.
TalkSport
In 2006, Owen moved to TalkSport, where she presented a breakfast show and other sports programmes. She also worked as a reporter for Sky Sports, covering a variety of sports including football, rugby and cricket.
Sky Sports
In 2014, Owen joined Sky Sports permanently as the presenter of their EFL coverage. It has also presented the UEFA Women’s Champions League, the FA Cup and the FIFA World Cup.
Second job
Owen has also worked as a presenter for ITV Football and has been a guest on a number of other television and radio shows. He is also a regular contributor to The Guardian and other publications.
