Mike Tyson Says He Doesn’t Remember Much of Jake Paul Fight: 'Don't Know What the Hell Was Going on’

Mike Tyson doesn’t remember much from his high-profile fight against Jake Paul.

The 58-year-old boxing legend reflected on his loss to Paul, 27, on November 15 during a new interview with Covino & Rich on Fox Sports, admitting he “blacked out a little bit” during the contest.

“I don’t remember that much of the fight, I passed out a bit,” he told the hosts on Monday, December 9.

“I remember coming back from the first round and Jake was doing something … I don’t know what he was doing,” Tyson continued, mimicking Paul’s bow in the ring. “And that’s the last thing I remember,” he shared.

Tyson also admitted that he questioned why he even bothered to fight Paul during the interview.

“The day after I woke up and said to my wife, ‘Why did I do that?’ I just don’t know what the hell was going on,” added Tyson, who has been married to Lahika Spicer since 2009.

And although he doesn’t remember much of what happened in the ring, Tyson’s body reminded him the day after the fight. “I don’t remember it, but my body was really sore, my chest, my stomach was really sore,” Tyson said.

When asked if he would change anything in the Paul fight, Tyson said, “Not at all.”

He also addressed the viral bare-butt moment from his fight with Paula, telling the hosts that he thought the reaction to his butt was “ridiculous” and that “that’s the way he is” — ie. bare buttocks – “your whole career”.

A day after losing the bout, Tyson shared a heartfelt statement on X (formerly Twitter), revealing that he “almost died” in June and had undergone multiple blood transfusions to recover.

“This is one of those situations where you lose but still win,” Tyson wrote in the post. “I’m thankful for last night. I don’t regret stepping into the ring for the last time.”

He continued: “I almost died in June. I had 8 blood transfusions. I lost half my blood and 25 pounds in the hospital and had to fight to get better to fight so I won. For my kids to see me standing on my toes and finishing 8 rounds with a talented fighter half my age in front of a packed Dallas Cowboy stadium is an experience no man has the right to ask for 🙏.”
