Even though 20 years is a long time, Mikelle Bigg’s family’s faith has not wavered. Kimber, Mikelle’s sister, claims they won’t ever stop battling, searching, or trying to learn what happened to the 11-year-old.
On the afternoon of January 2, 1998, Mikelle borrowed the bike from her younger sister and rode to the Mesa neighbourhood where she’d heard an ice cream truck. Kimber went to look for her when she didn’t show up but instead found the bicycle left in the street not far from their house. The one memory that constantly comes to mind is of the bike on the road with the spinning tyre, said Kimber.
Law officers, volunteers, and neighbours flocked to the area quickly in search of Mikelle. Mikelle was never discovered, despite her parents’ pleas and the assistance of the community. She seems to have disappeared. They won’t stop looking, according to Kimber, the last person to see her ride off.

Kimber has created a Facebook profile just for the purpose of learning what happened to her sister. About 18,000 people follow the “Justice for Mikelle Biggs” Facebook page. Kimber wants to continue expanding and disseminating information on fresh cases of missing persons as well as the case of her sister.
It’s more likely to reach more people and reach someone who genuinely knows something, Kimber reasoned, “the more people that see me pleading and fighting for answers.” Everyone has clung to the stuffed bear she still has that was her sister’s favourite in the hopes that one day they will learn the truth.
According to Mesa Police, there are no fresh, solid leads in the case of Mikelle Biggs’ disappearance, which is still ongoing. Mikelle’s name was printed on a dollar bill that was present. In March 2018, FOX 10 reported on this development, however police now claim that it was not a legitimate lead.
