Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher's 2 Kids: Everything They've Said About Parenting

Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher are tackling the challenges of parenthood together.

The That 70s show The students, who have been married since 2015, have two children: daughter Wyatt Isabelle, 9, and son Dimitri Portwood, 7.

In 2021, an A-list couple sparked backlash after sharing details about their children’s bathing habits on Dax Shepard’s Armchair expert podcast. “Now, here’s the thing: If you see dirt on them, clean them. Otherwise, there’s no point,” Kutcher said.

After Kutcher’s statement sparked conversation, the duo responded with a cheeky Instagram video while taking a bath. “Dousing children with water?! Are you trying to melt them?!” Kutcher yells in the video. Kunis later replies, “We bathe our kids.”

After the Russian invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, Kunis — who was born in Ukraine — and Kutcher had serious conversations with their children about their heritage.

“Ultimately, it’s incredibly important to know where you came from. It’s beautiful, it’s amazing to have multiple cultures. We shouldn’t all be the same. We shouldn’t all think alike. That’s not the importance of community and growth. And so, we were very quick to remind our children that they are half Ukrainian,” Kunis said in an interview with Who is talking to Chris Wallace? in March 2022.

Kutcher spoke with PEOPLE about parenting at the premiere of his film Your place or mine in February 2023. “For me, the No. 1 role I’ll ever play is a father,” the actor said. – This is the most important role in my life.

In May 2024, Wyatt and Dimitri made a rare public appearance with their parents at a WNBA game in Los Angeles. The two kids were overjoyed to meet and take a photo with Indiana Fever’s Caitlin Clark after her team beat the LA Sparks.

On October 1, 2014, Kunis and Kutcher welcomed their first child together, daughter Wyatt Isabelle Kutcher.

“Mila and I would like to welcome Wyatt Isabella Kutcher into the world. May your life be filled with wonder, love, laughter, health, happiness, curiosity and privacy,” Kutcher wrote on his website at the time.

In July 2021, Kunis revealed to PEOPLE that then-6-year-old Wyatt was very fascinated by space.

“Here’s the irony: My daughter is in love with space. Right now, if you ask her what she wants to be when she grows up, she’ll tell you she wants to be an astronaut, a chef in space,” she said. “That’s what she wants to be. She wants to be a cook and an astronaut on the International Space Station.”

The Bad moms star also likes to be honest with her daughter and admit her mistakes, something she’s been doing since Wyatt was little.

“The only thing I’ve ever felt guilty about, and I’ve actually apologized to my 3-year-old, is when I overdid it,” Kunis said of Wyatt during an interview with PEOPLE in November 2017. “I absolutely apologize to her. Even from the moment she didn’t understood that I was apologizing, I would say, ‘I’m really sorry. Mom didn’t handle that situation very well.’ ”

Of her “short fuse,” Kunis said, “I’m going to go away and come back and sit [Wyatt] down and I say, ‘I’m really sorry. Mom overdid it. Do you forgive me?’ And she’s like, ‘Yeah, I forgive you.’ ”

One “parenting blunder” Kunis had was encouraging her daughter to hit back at a bully — a decision Kutcher disagreed with.

“There was a little kid in my kid’s daycare who wasn’t very nice and pushed my daughter,” Kunis said in Confessions of a mom series for Ellen. “My daughter came back and said, ‘So-and-so pushed me.’ And I instinctively said, ‘Did you push her back?’ And my daughter says: ‘No!’ ”

After advising Wyatt to “push her away next time and say no thanks and walk away,” the actress recalled “when she saw Ashton’s face and he said, ‘No!’ ”

“I would say it’s a parental failure,” she added with a laugh. Later in the video, Kunis said that Wyatt is her mini-me. “My daughter is me. She’s independent and feisty and wonderfully smart and that’s an amazing quality to have as an adult, but it’s really hard to fight as a child,” the proud mom explained. “She has a million answers to one question and she’s not wrong.”

“We really kind of just tried to celebrate the fact that our kids are young and they still want to hang out with us and we have to be with them all day,” Kutcher told PEOPLE in September 2021.

“I think the whole thing was scary, but we talked about it a lot,” he added about the pandemic. “Our kids are still pretty young and our son is going to be 5 and probably knows more about life under the mask than without the mask. So it’s just a lesson in resilience for both him and our daughter.”

To keep the kids occupied, Kunis took them to a “baby rave”. The mom of two discussed the experience during a virtual interview on Jimmy Kimmel Live!.

“I thought, guys, let’s go to a rave. My husband says, ‘What?’ I said, ‘Don’t worry about it – I’ll do this,’ she said. “I took my four-year-old and my six-year-old and my grown husband to a baby rave.”

Kunis recalled Wyatt and Dimitri exclaiming that it was “‘the best experience ever!’ ”

During the summer of 2022, Kutcher and Kunis took their children on a “crazy 10-day road trip.”

“We just went on a van cruise through national parks across the country. We just hung out with our kids 24/7 and it was awesome,” Revenge the actor told PEOPLE.
