Who are her parents?

Her mother Ammy Alcock gave birth to her in Sydney. Her father’s name is not given, although she was raised with her two brothers. During an interview, Alcock described her family as very non-artistic, and she stated that art is something she feels is uniquely hers, something she owns and holds on to as a sense of independence and something she can call her own.

She was talented in acting, so she was accepted to Newtown High School of the Performing Arts, but dropped out to pursue a professional acting career. When she got to school, she had to google agencies and ask if they could hire her because all her classmates had agents. She was then 13 years old.

She had no idea she was being considered for the hit show.

She took up acting at a young age while growing up in Sydney, New South Wales, with her two brothers, after playing Little Red Riding Hood (a jazzed-up version of the original fairy tale) at her primary school. She remembered standing on stage, waving her hand for emphasis and feeling euphoric, as if she wanted to feel that way for the rest of her life. She debuted as a teenager in the 2014 rom-com Wonderland.

She played small roles in Australia until landing a prominent role in Foxtel’s Upright and Game of Thrones prequel, House of the Dragon. But she had no idea she was auditioning for the previous installment when she left. She told the Evening Standard that she was given a tape for an unknown HBO project. She went to the audition with a friend and had no idea it was for Dragon House because HBO cut her out of the script.

She got the part two weeks later. Alcock said she received the call while cooking dinner at a friend’s house. She couldn’t tell anyone that she was going to the audition, so she sat outside to take the phone call, and when the agent told her she was selected, she went crazy in the yard and went inside to ask her friend if there was any wine. Then she became drunk. Milly Alcock appears in House of the Dragon. Milly Alcock’s Dragon House. Instagram is the source.

Her experience studying the Valyrian language

Alcock had to master the Valyrian language with different dialect teachers for House of the Dragon. She described her experience learning Valyrian in the podcast. Learning Valyrian, she said, was like learning a new song in another language. She would memorize the scene in English, have it printed on a piece of paper, and then she would recite it phonetically with an audio recording.

She would say that then. She had muscle memory for what she was saying, so she didn’t have to think about it. Her mouth was practically on autopilot, she admitted. In addition, she learned to ride a horse. On the other hand, she would spend hours practicing riding. She admitted that she is under a lot of pressure on herself, knowing that she has only herself to blame if she fails.
