Screen Rant: Addison is on a journey to find out who she is and where she belongs. How important will this be in the third film?

Meg Donnelly: Very important. I think that’s one of the things that we get into in the third movie. When we start, Addison is very happy with Zed and the cheerleading squad; she’s getting ready for the big game, and she’s about to go off to college.

But when the alien arrives, it opens another door for her again – just like the werewolf. Maybe it’s like, “Is this where I belong? I don’t know.” It’s definitely a huge topic of discussion and I know everyone is curious about why she has gray hair because they’ve never had that question answered . So, hopefully you all can get some answers.

Speaking of college, Zed desperately wants to be the first outstanding zombie to go to college. How far is he willing to go for this dream?

Milo Manheim: Look, Zed obviously wants to go to college because he’s going to be the first Monster to go to college, which is a huge feat. But he wants to be with Addison and she’s going to college—and if he doesn’t go to college, that could mean the end of the relationship. Therefore, the risk of entering college is very high.

That’s the main thing that Zed thinks about in this movie, but when he’s interviewed by a talent scout, things get a little crazy and he has to dig himself out of a little hole. But, we’ll see! You’ll have to watch the movie to find out.

You two put me through hell in this movie. Can you talk a little bit about how you’ve grown together as scene partners?

Milo Mannheim: Yes, we can. We’ve talked about this a lot today because it’s so real. By the time we watched the first and third movies, we had come so far.

Meg and I, when we auditioned, we were paired with different people. We read with other people; I read with a different Addison, she read with a different Zed. But we connected because we talked to each other in the lobby of the waiting room. They saw this and said, “We need to try these two.” I’m so glad they did because now Meg is my best friend. We are a family and we have been together for six years. It’s such a wild ride that most people never really experience. It was a crazy bonding experience.

We had an amazingly large cast, but not everyone was there from the beginning. I can say that I could not have done it without Meg. We are together.

Meg Donnelly: I never could have done it without [him].

The competitive spirit takes over much of Seabrook in this film. What things in life are you very competitive about?

Meg Donnelly: Games?

Milo Manheim: I’m a huge gamer. Not a video gamer, but a gamer. Like many people, I became very competitive. I just want things to be fair; I don’t like it when people don’t follow the rules. Very serious! The game is serious.

But I also compete with myself. I’m always trying to better myself and I feel like my only competition is myself.

Meg Donnelly: Pub! Yes, I agree too. In games and other things, I always start out by saying, “I don’t even care, whatever.” And then when we’re in the middle of it, I’m like, “Ah!”

Addison doesn’t know her place yet, but if you were to make a decision for her from the collection of all species we have at Seabrook, where would you place her?

Meg Donnelly: I don’t know. To be honest, I would love to be a zombie myself. I would love to have all of Eliza’s wardrobe and be Bonzo and Zed. I definitely want to be a zombie – or a mermaid!

Addison kind of looks like [moment] It’s really interesting to realize that. That’s a great costume.

Milo Manheim: You would make a great zombie.

Meg Donnelly: I know you’re a zombie, but…

If you had to change, how would you change?

Milo Manheim: If I had to be anyone else, I’d always be very envious of the werewolf style. I have to do this. I remember watching Zombies 2 and being like, “Oh my gosh, their costumes are so cool.” Now in Zombies 3, the alien costumes are crazy. I didn’t think things could get any better than this, but they did.

Addison is excited to invite cheerleaders from around the world to compete in the “International Cheerleading” competition to celebrate the opening of the town’s new “Cheerleading Pavilion.”

However, the town is rocked by the arrival of a new group of intergalactic outsiders – aliens – who show up at the cheering competition.
