Facts/Trivia
- When Heejin joined SM Entertainment, she was not interested in the music of idol groups and wanted to work on album covers.
- After working as a creative director at SM Entertainment, Heejin suffered a lot of mental and work pressure. She had no time for herself and felt exhausted. In an interview, when talking about her working life at SM and how she decided to leave the company, she said:
By the time I became creative director, I was very (mentally) fatigued. I did a lot of work. I used to shoot four to five music videos a month and release four to five albums. I used to joke with my team at the time that if I participated in a survival show, I might come in first place. In fact I have never been on a decent holiday. I send my team members on vacation, but I have a hard time going. I was so exhausted that I thought I should give up. But I feel that the company will not let me go easily. So when I first told the chief producer, we cried together. At that time, I even thought, “Why is it so painful to live?” I suffered from severe self-torture and was very strict with myself. Of course, there were happy moments, but in those moments I thought, “Is this happiness?” So I continued on my way out of the company. ”
- In 2019, after leaving SM Entertainment, she received a call from Hybe Corporation and was appointed chief brand officer (CBO). She said in an interview,
I still feel like there’s so much more I want to do and accomplish, but this is a huge and new challenge that I’m facing. A few days later, I received a call from another place, that was HYBE. ”
