The picture has baffled viewers because meat looks fuzzy and out-of-focus, while the black plastic container and wooden table are clear.
It’s been dubbed the ‘first optical illusion of 2017’ by New York Magazine, and was posted on Reddit by Melvin D*** Pic Tweet.
Melvin has helpfully showed a video of the meat in the thread, adding: “Proof for all those who doubted the realness of the ham.

This colourful image, from 2016, creates a similar effect of appearing to move

Some Reddit users stared so hard at the snap that it reportedly gave them motion sickness.

Instagram user @leonardhoespams later confirmed that it was paint on her legs.
