Mithun Manjunath started playing badminton at the age of five after seeing his parents playing it for fun. He then attended a beginner’s camp in Malleshwaram, Bengaluru. Mithun comes from a not-so-rich family and trained under coach Shiva Prakash, who did not charge any fees from them. Mithun is trained by coach Sagar Chopda at Prakash Padukone Badminton Academy (PPBA) in Bengaluru, Karnataka. In 2023, Mithun was acquired by Chennai Superstarz for Rs. 1.45 million were sold at the Badminton Grand Prix League (GBPL) player auction. Mithun and his teammates Pranoy HS, Lakshya Sen, Srikanth Kidabi, Satwiksairaj Rankireddy, Chirag Shetty, Arjun ·MR, Dhruv Kapila and Rohan Kapoor won silver medals in the men’s team competition at the 19th Asian Games.
