Mohammed Ashiq (also spelled Mohammed Aashiq or Muhammad Aashiq) was born on Tuesday, November 24, 1998 (age 25; as of 2023) in Mangaluru (commonly known as Mango), Karnataka, India Grohl). His zodiac sign is Sagittarius. He completed his schooling from Milagres High School, Mangaluru.

He started cooking when he was in seventh grade and started making food for his family and friends, who praised his cooking skills and inspired him to pursue a career in cooking. He wanted to pursue a degree in hotel management; however, his poor financial situation forced him to start his own juice center.

He auditioned for MasterChef India Season 7 in 2023, which airs on SET and SonyLIV; however, he failed to make it to the top 40 and was eliminated. After elimination, he returned to the juice bar business and started preparing to audition for MasterChef India Season 8, but his mother wanted him to move to Dubai and work as a chef there. Ashiq convinced his mother to let him participate in MasterChef India Season 8 in 2023 on SonyLIV.

He then entered the show with his signature dish ‘Mangalore Style Fish Fried’ and defeated Suraj Thapa, Rukhsaar Sayeed and Nambie Jessica Marak in the finals to win the show and win a cash prize of Rs 25 Lakhs .

After winning the award, he revealed that he was the only one making money in his family, thanked his family and friends for their support, and said he would use the winnings to open a restaurant in partnership with his brother-in-law.

After nearly losing last season, it was difficult to come back with more determination, but I dedicated myself to my craft. This victory is not just mine; It is suitable for every dreamer who is not afraid of difficulties and chases his dreams. I have grown tremendously and noticed a significant shift in my cooking skills, all thanks to the incredible bootcamp experience. “
