Moment model Caroline Werner is arrested for being topless while walking her dogs as cops bundle her into police van

A BRAZILIAN model is facing a year in jail after she was arrested and bundled into a police van while walking her dogs topless.

Now she strongly condemned the double standards in Brazil where women are punished and men are not.

Caroline Werner, 37, was arrested this year for walking her dogs along a busy beach street topless, with only a T-shirt tied around the waistband of her shorts.

In the footage, the blonde wowed beachgoers at Balneario Cambori with her impressive show as she strolled along the coastal road with two dogs on a leash, stunning passers-by, cyclists and motorists.

Local media reported that police arrested her and charged her with indecent exposure after the walk on Saturday, May 13.

Photos show two officers handcuffing her before she is taken to a nearby police station.

She received a ticket for indecent exposure before being released.

Werner also claims that the police violated her legal rights by not allowing her to call her family or a lawyer.

The 37-year-old believes Brazil is too tight and has never had a problem before, according to Brazilian news outlet G1.

She said: “Unfortunately in my country, although the Constitution provides for gender equality, in practice it does not happen, I cannot have the same freedom and I feel forced to because of this system and the repressive interpretation of the law.”

She told the newspaper: “What should be natural to both sexes ends up being denied to one of them in an arbitrary and oppressive way.”

Werner, a businesswoman who also has her own bikini area, said that she has traveled all over the world and has never had a problem being topless before and was shocked when she was arrested in the South American country.

“In many countries, this is a completely normal practice,” she said. “The female body is not objectified and hypersexualized.”

The Santa Catarina State Prosecutor’s Office is handling the case and offered her a plea deal, but Werner, who has since moved from Balneário Camboriú, said she did not attend the hearing.

Her lawyer said she was not notified of the hearing and is asking for a new date.

Werner said that the whole incident was ignited by the Internet, where videos of her walking topless are circulating on the web.

She said: “What happened to me, the abuse of authority and the condemnation of society, shows how the very interpretation of the law reflects the gendered behavior dictated by a patriarchal, violent culture, in relation to the control of women’s bodies.”

She faces up to a year in prison and a fine.
