During the 1980s, Monty and Sarah ran a business called Monty Don Jewelry, which attracted some very famous clients. Jeweler in Beauchamp Place, SW1, has designed and created her own pieces, mainly pieces of costume jewelry.
The venture was so successful that they sold in many countries around the world and were approved by famous fashion houses Harrods, Harvey Nichols and Liberty. British Vogue also featured them in their magazine.

There was even a connection to the royal family as Diana, Princess of Wales was said to be a client of Monty Don Jewelery along with other big stars of the era including Boy George and Michael Jackson.
In 2005, Monty spoke openly about the venture. Writing in the Independent, he said: “Jewelry has value purely in design and appearance, not in material cost. Our jewelry is still under the V&A category.
“When we flew, we actually flew. At our best, we were the best in the world at what we did. But we were never successful with our advertising. we convinced others – and ourselves – that we were successful, and were constantly in debt.”
