Kelsea Ballerini and Morgan Evans are no longer married after the former filed for divorce on August 26. According to a People insider, they worked on their marriage for a long time and split before that. According to the insider, the couple has been receiving treatment for many years.
In an Instagram Story on the occasion of her divorce from 37-year-old Evans, Ballerini wrote:
“Friends, I have always done my best to share my life with you in an honest and sensitive way, while still protecting aspects of my personal life as they came up.” Since this is now public information, I wanted you to know that I am getting a divorce.”
She went on to mention that the election is the fruit of love, progress and work, and all of that has finally come to an end. As she looks ahead to her future, the 28-year-old expressed gratitude for her years of marriage to Evans. She concluded by noting that they have a busy schedule and that they are slowly recovering and doing their best.
Evans also released a statement saying:
“I am extremely sorry to inform you that Kelsea and I are divorcing after almost five years of marriage.” I wish it were different, but it’s not.”

All about Morgan Evans
Morgan Evans is a 37-year-old country music singer-songwriter born on April 25, 1985. The Australian artist’s self-titled debut album debuted at number 20 on the ARIA Albums Chart and won him the ARIA Award for Best Country Album of 2019. Evans has two siblings: a sister named Jane and a younger brother named Tom, who is also a musician. Morgan debuted at age 13 as a member of the band Extortion while attending Warners Bay High School. He was the group’s lead singer and guitarist, eventually signing with Sony BMG, releasing his debut EP, Big Skies, in 2007.
Morgan released his second EP, Live Every Day, in January 2012, followed by his third EP, While We’re Young. Morgan Evans, his next album, was released in March 2014. From 2015 to 2017, Morgan Evans hosted the CMC Music Awards. In May 2017, he moved to Nashville and signed to Warner Music Nashville, releasing his debut single Kiss Somebody. This was followed in December 2017 by another single, I Do, as well as his fourth EP, the Morgan Evans EP, and his second studio album, Things That We Drink To. Morgan’s second song, Diamonds, was released in November 2019 and he received an Outstanding International Achievement Award at the APRA Awards in March 2020.
Kelsea Ballerini and Morgan Evans Relationship
Kelsea Ballerini and Morgan Evans met for the first time at the CMC Awards in Australia in 2016. They started dating the same year, got engaged on Christmas Day and married in 2017. Feel Your Way Through, Ballerini’s book of poetry was published last year, in which she spoke about how her parents’ divorce affected her relationships and beliefs about marriage. In an interview with People, she said that she would never marry, and characterized her parents’ divorce as “very nasty and long-lasting”.
She continued, saying:
“For a long time, I simply saw their marriage as their divorce.” As I grew up, I was able to talk to them about their marriage even before the divorce, and I recognized that there used to be beauty and love there. That let me know I could locate him.”
However, she admitted that marriage is a fantasy that could work. Kelsea said she and Morgan went to treatment together and separately when they discussed the benefits of counseling. She said it was crucial for them because of their busy and unusual lifestyles, which meant that they spent little time together.
