This optical illusion by artist Oleg Shupliak explores the difference between genius and madness Credit: Oleg Shupliak
The portrait you see below is a 2012 portrait of Salvador Dali called Genius and Madness by Ukrainian artist Oleg Shupliak.
Although it is a portrait of a legendary painter, it may not be what you first see.
The image consists of different parts that make up a composite.
While some may initially see Dali’s face in the painting, others may notice different components, including a ram’s head and a lyre-like musical instrument.
However, there is also a written message inscribed within the image.

Keep your eyes open for the top half, it’s not as tricky as you might think.
The sign in the middle of the figure’s forehead reads: “Stupidity and Genius”.
Shupliak is known for creating artwork that includes optical illusions and images hidden within faces, according to his website.
Salvador Dali was best known for his surrealist art, double paintings and hidden self-portraits.
Science Direct said the artist was known for his “craziness” in his shocking art and personality and that scientific tests found Dali met the diagnostic criteria for a personality disorder and psychotic illness.
