MSNBC Host Nicolle Wallace Welcomes ‘Perfect’ Baby Girl: We Are ‘Smitten with Her’

Deadline: White House MSNBC presenter Nicolle Wallace welcomed a baby girl into the world!

Tuesday’s newscast featured Alicia Menendez speaking live with Wallace, who was absent from his hosting duties last week. After greeting her fellow host, Wallace, 51, explained her whereabouts and shared the exciting news.

“I haven’t looked at my phone in a week and I’m amazed at the theories out there,” she said as Menendez chuckled.

“I understand why so many people dismissed the truth that Mike and I had a baby. Her name is Isabella Sloane Schmidt and Mike, Liam and I are delighted with her.”

She shares a son Liam (11) with her ex-husband Mark Wallace. Isabella is her first child with husband Michael S. Schmidt.

While the immediate family can’t wait for Isabella’s arrival, the TV host joked that their dogs are “still making judgments” about the little new man who recently appeared in their home.

“I wasn’t pregnant,” she said after revealing she had managed to grow her family in secret until the baby was born via surrogate. “I am so happy to share our happy news today,” she said.

Wallace acknowledged that there are “pros and cons to being a mom again at 51.” She also reflected on the adjustment period with her new bundle of joy.

“You’re tired,” she said. “I was up all night last night and I was like, ‘Oh, wow. Yes, this is what 3:45 in the morning looks like.’ ”

The ladies laughed as Wallace called it “a blessing to be able to focus again on what always grounded me,” referring to his family. She said Liam is doing a great job settling into his role as the first big brother.

Wallace added that he was calmer than she and Schmidt at first and that he was a pro at grabbing Isabelle. Liam “just has a sense of control,” according to his mother.

The political commentator joked that while at the bank earlier in the day, she found herself swaying even though the newborn was not there. She also assured viewers that she will never leave the show, and that she is only temporarily out.

“I’m so happy and I’m so grateful for that [you’re] managing these hours while I hang out with Izzy for a few months,” she added, saying her family tuned in to watch the show.

While discussing Isabella’s sleeping and eating habits, Wallace called her little girl “perfect.”

With all the food talk, Menendez turned the conversation to Thanksgiving.

Wallace said her family is “a little tight” because “there’s so much at the beginning,” but said they plan to have a “little family Thanksgiving” and may attend the parade because they live near the route.

“And if we get away with it, we’ll just watch it on TV,” she added.
