Profession
In 1970, he started working with Bank of Baroda and worked there for nearly 31 years. In 2001, he voluntarily resigned from his banking job. He then started acting in plays and later, he acted in various Hindi and Gujarati dramas such as “Bol Baby Bol, Bindaas Bol”, “Khel” and “Ame Tane Ane Rataniyo”. He has worked in several Hindi, Gujarati and Bhojpuri films and TV shows. He gained popularity with the epic mythological serials Ramayana (1987) and Luv Kush (1988), in which he played the role of Vibhishana.

Mukesh appeared in a few Hindi television series including “Hasratein” (1996), “Kohi Apna Sa” (2001), “Kabhi Saas Kabhi Bahu” (2008) and “Beend Banoongaa Ghodi Chadhaunga” (2011 Year). He played supporting roles in several Hindi films such as “Woh Phir Aayegi” (1988), “Zid” (1994), “Lahoo Ke Do Rang” (1997), “Wake Up Sid” (2009) and “Haunted” – 3D” (2011).

He died in a train accident in Kandivali, Mumbai on November 15, 2016, while on a trip to dub for a Gujarati film. His body was found on a railway track in Mumbai around 9:33 am and was identified by his relatives. At the time of his death, one of his relatives said:
His body was found on a railway track in Mumbai this morning. He died in a train accident. We are yet to receive the body for the last rites. It’s still in the morgue. “
Senior Indian actress Himani Shivpuri said,
We have just learned this news and are very sad about it. Word came that we were going to visit the family. We don’t know why he committed suicide. He also has a family behind him. ”
According to other sources, Mukesh became depressed and committed suicide after the death of his son. An official from Borivli GRP said in an interview,
Mukesh could never accept his son’s death. When the couple’s daughter got married and left, Mukesh began to feel even more lonely. About 15 days before his suicide, Mukesh started missing Devji terribly and talked about him often. Maybe that’s why he committed suicide. ”
