Her mom Alice Mackey, 42, was accused of murder today.
She is in custody and will appear in a court for misdemeanors in Basingstoke on Wednesday.
Previously, the police were sent to a report that Annabel Mackey disappeared from her house in Forge Road, Kingsley, Bordon, Hampshire.
The young man was found in Kingsley Pond shortly later and was transported to a hospital in severe condition, but died the next afternoon.
A spokesman for Constabulary Hampshire said: “A woman arrested after the death of a two -year -old girl found in Kingsley Pond, East Hampshire in September 2023, today she was accused of murder on March 4).
“Alice Mackey, 42, of Gibbs Lane in Oakhanger, was detained in custody to appear in the Basingstoke Misdemeanor Court on Wednesday, March 5, 2025.
“We were invited at 5,02 on Sunday, September 10, 2023, a report that two -year -old Annabel Mackey disappeared from her home at Forge Road in Kingsley.
“Annabel was found shortly later, not responding to Kingsley Pond.
“She was transported to a hospital in a serious condition, where she died in the afternoon on Monday, September 11th.
“Detectives from the main criminal team conducted an investigation into Annabella’s death and her movements before she was in Pond Kingsley.”
In a statement announced by police earlier on Tuesday, Annabella’s dad said: “Annabel was a beautiful, positive and very happy girl.
“She had an incredibly pure and caring nature that we miss us so much. She loved the time of the story, dogs and carts.
“She enjoyed singing songs and kindergartens and had a very sweet tooth.
“Annabel loved laughing, she brought so much happiness into our life.
“Drago loved family and friends.
“Thank you to everyone who has been a positive impact in her life.
“Please continue Annabelina’s legacy, remembering her and taking care of others as she does.
“The world needs more people like Annabel to spread positivity and kindness.
“Annabel, I love you so much, you are a great star and you will love forever x.”
