Just last year, Emily celebrated being “cancer free” in a touching post on social media.

The family of the 34-year-old described her as “a lively and unique person who experienced many adventures in her too short life”.

Last year Emily took to Instagram to share a video of herself giving the thumbs up at the hospital.

She titled the post: “I lived in a ****”. I have been suffering from cancer for the last year. Now I’m cancer free.”

Emily is survived by her parents, Julie and Sam Goldberg of La Jolla, and a brother, Aaron Goldberg of Chicago, Illinois.

Her death comes six years after Swedish music legend Avicii passed away aged 28 on April 20, 2018.

Avicii, whose real name was Tim Bergling, topped the charts with a string of Grammy-nominated EDM hits.

Following Avicii’s death, Emily posted a heartbreaking tribute on Instagram.

She said, “Come on honey, don’t give up on us. Choose me and I’ll show you love.

“Those are the lines from a song Tim wrote for me. I wish I could have lived up to them.

“For the two years we were together, he was my closest confidant and my best friend.

“Now I can’t look at Bear without knowing I’ll never see his face again.

“I’m still gathering my thoughts and thank you for all the kind words and texts.

“Wake me up when it’s over, because I don’t want it to be real. RIP Avicii.”
