Cinthanie McAllister (@cinthanie) said that her first encounters with people never go well.
In a TikTok video, he began: “Give you an idea of what it’s like when I introduce myself to people for the first time and they hear my name for the first time.
“It is always so”.
The blonde beauty sat in the car pretending to be herself and the stranger.
“Hello what is your name?” she said, like a stranger.
“My name is Cinthanie,” she replied, like herself.
Confused, the stranger would ask, “What?”
“My name is Cinthanie,” she repeated.
Saying the first word that comes to mind, the stranger would say, “Symphony? Like an orchestra?
“No, Cinthanie,” she would always reply.
Trying to make sense of the unheard of name, they would ask if he was pronouncing the most common option, Cynthia.
“No. It’s Cinthanie,” she yelled, frustrated by the constant confusion.
When strangers finally understand what you’re saying, they usually change their tune and declare how much they like the name.
“But he’ll never remember,” Cinthanie said.
In the caption, he addressed all those with unusual nicknames: “RIP to all of us unique names. That one day it will be pronounced correctly.
In the comments, people shared their own similar experiences:
“When I say ‘I’m Seri’ to someone new he usually responds with ‘Okay’ because he thinks I’m apologizing for something even though we’ve never spoken lol,” one person wrote.
“My husband’s name is Sundance…he can’t fucking place a takeout order to save his life,” another revealed.
