The couple has two sons, one of whom is named Nongthombam Ajay Singh. Ajay was accused of murdering a man named Roger in 2011. They also have a daughter, Anjubala Nongthongbam, who is married to politician RK Imo Singh. RK Imo Singh is the son of Rajkumar Jaichandra Singh, the first Union Minister of Manipur.

N. Hiyainu Devi owns a handloom and handicraft business in Manipur. She is also a social worker. In 2020, she launched the Manipur Anemia Elimination Poster Campaign under the leadership of the Bharat Vikas Parishad, Manipur Chief Minister Secretariat.
In the same year, she opened Imphal WPC store. This is the fourth WPC store opened by Hardy Smith in India, aiming to promote and supply environmentally friendly WPC products in Manipur.
She also laid the foundation stone for the Lamlongei Maning Leikai (Leihaopokpi) water supply scheme in Imphal in 2021. The program is implemented by MOBEDS Manipur under the leadership of Pradhan Mantri Jan Vikas Karyakram (PMJVK).
