A dark gray cat dries off and calms down after being left in a tied pillow case.
According to the Niagara SPCA, the cat was left in a pillowcase by the side of the road while it was raining.
“Warning – this post describes a callous act of animal abandonment,” the Niagara Falls, New York-based rescue began its Facebook post about the incident.
The February 27 post also contained two pictures of a cat. In both pictures, the cat is wide-eyed and partially wet. The Niagara SPCA also shared a photo of the pink and purple pillow case the cat was found in.
The rescue continued its post with a description of the rescue of the cat. According to the Niagara SPCA, a Good Samaritan was the first to spot the cat.
A ‘dear’ dog in a shelter for more than 900 days was returned a day after its long-awaited adoption
“It was left or potentially dumped, tied up in a pillowcase, on the side of the road near the bend at Bond Lake today, in the pouring rain. Luckily, a woman passing by saw the bag moving and stopped to investigate. She untied the bag, the pillowcase, and the cat ran out and immediately climbed into the engine of her car,” the rescue wrote.

“Other than being wet and a bit scared, she doesn’t seem any worse for being carried,” the rescue added about the cat’s current condition.
The Niagara SPCA also mentioned that the cat could be looking for a “wonderful adopter” soon. Before the cat goes searching, the animal rescue service checks whether the pet already has a family.
