While studying at Gangadhar Meher University (GMU) in Sambalpur, Kishore Das became interested in politics and joined the Students Federation of India (SFI) party. He was elected student body president of the college. Accused of watching porn videos inside Parliament House
On December 14, 2015, Naba Kishore Das was caught by a television cameraman watching pornographic content on his mobile phone during a parliamentary session in Odisha. On December 15, 2015, he was accused of belittling the dignity of the assembly and was eventually suspended from the Odisha Assembly for a week. Nabha Kishore, on the contrary, claimed that the allegations were baseless and said that while surfing the Internet, a page with adult content accidentally appeared on his mobile screen. He said,
I was browsing on my phone when I accidentally touched the YouTube app and this clip popped up. The video is on YouTube. The company has already sent it, and I didn’t choose it deliberately. “
In December 2018, Kishore was cleared of the charges against him due to a lack of evidence to substantiate the charges.

On January 29, 2023, Kishore was on his way to inaugurate a party office at Brajrajnagar in Odisha’s Jharsuguda district when he was arrested by Gopal Das, a police officer of the rank of Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI). Das) shot. When Kishore got out of the vehicle to meet his supporters near Gandhi Chowk, Gopal fired several shots at him with a revolver. Kishore sustained a gunshot wound on the left side of the chest and was immediately airlifted to Apollo Hospitals in Bhubaneswar, where he received immediate treatment. But despite his best efforts, he could not be revived and eventually succumbed to his injuries. “

However, the police did not disclose Gopal’s motive for assassinating Kishore. Kishore Das was cremated with state honors on January 30, 2023, at Kherual village near Jharsuguda district in Odisha.
