Namanveer Singh Brar is an Indian clay pigeon shooter and lawyer. On September 13, 2021, he shot himself in the right temple with a licensed pistol at his residence in Mohali, Punjab, and died on the spot.

He started shooting when he was a sophomore in college. In 2009, his family moved from Faridkot, Punjab, to Mohali, Punjab, so Namanvir could get better facilities to practice shooting. He used to practice shooting at the Moti Bagh shooting range in Patiala, Punjab.
In 2013, he won a gold medal at the Universiade in Finland. In 2015, he won a bronze medal in the disc shooting event at the All India College Shooting Championships. That same year, he won a bronze medal at the Universiade in Gwangju, South Korea.
He also won a few other medals in various national shooting championships. Later, he began providing training to budding shooters. In March 2021, he finished fourth in the Minimum Qualifying Score (MQS) category at the Delhi Shooting World Cup. His shooting coach at DAV Academy in Chandigarh was Amanendra Mann.

Namanveer Singh Brar was found dead at his residence in Mohali, Punjab, at 3:35 am on September 13, 2021. When he was alone in the room, he shot himself in the right temple with an Austrian-made Glock pistol he was holding, according to local police. His family rushed to his room after hearing gunshots. Mohali sub-inspector Amandeep Singh, who is investigating the matter, said,
He came home late and went to his room while his pregnant wife was sleeping with her mother-in-law. At first glance, this looks like a suicide case. After ruling out the possibility of foul play, we have initiated investigation proceedings under Section 174 of the Criminal Procedure Code into the statement of Brar’s father, who did not want to undergo any further investigation. After post-mortem, the body has been handed over to the family. “
According to his family, Namanville had returned from a party late at night and his wife was sleeping with his mother. After his death, his shooting coach Amanendra Mann of DAV Academy, Chandigarh also expressed his grief. He said,
It was shocking to learn of Namanville’s death. He is a great shooter and I participated in the 2016 Universiade in Poland with the Indian University team and he won the team bronze medal. He is a passionate goalscorer who always shows his passion for the game. So sad to hear of his passing. “
