Namrata Joshi is an award-winning Indian film critic. After working at Outlook news magazine from 1999 to 2015, she joined the Mumbai edition of The Hindu, which she announced via a tweet in 2015, saying:

She has worked with many reputed newspapers and magazines like The Guardian, The Wire (India), Al Jazeera, The Print (India), Deccan Herald, DZone, OPEN, Silverscreen India, NewsClick, National Herald India, Outlook (India), Firstpost, Mint, Hindu, Dawn and Khaleej Times. She is also a member of the International Federation of Film Critics (FIPRESCI).

She established herself as a writer by launching her first book, Reel India: Cinema off the Beaten Track, on July 20, 2019. The book is 250 pages long, in which she analyzes the impact of cinema on society and its consequences.
