Nangolo Mbumba was sworn in from January 4 to 24 in the capital Windhoek as the nation’s fourth president following the death of Hage Geingob at the age of 82. Nangolo said in a statement released by the Namibian presidency on Sunday morning,

“It is with the greatest sadness and regret that I inform you that our beloved Dr. Hage G. Geingob, President of the Republic of Namibia, passed away today, Sunday, February 4, 2024, at around 00:04 at Lady Pohamba Hospital, where he was receiving medical attention your medical team.”

“His medical team … is doing everything possible to ensure that our president recovers,” Mbumba said in a statement. “Unfortunately, despite the team’s frantic efforts to save his life, unfortunately, fellow Namibians, President Geingob has passed away.”

Nangolo Mbuma was born on August 15, 1941 in Olukonda, South West Africa (now Namibia). As of 2024, he is 82 years old. His zodiac sign is Leo. He is a follower of the Christian religion. Nangolo Mbuma is the fourth president of Namibia. He was sworn in as the fourth president of Namibia after former president Haga Geingob. Nangolo served under Hage Geingoba as Namibia’s second vice president from 2018 until Hage’s death.
