Facts/Trivia
- When Rosibina was seven, she made a punching bag out of torn clothes to practice martial arts moves. Impressed by her dedication, local martial arts champion Malemnganbi Devi began teaching Roshibina the martial arts. After some time, M Ronel Singh, a coach from nearby Nacho village, started teaching her. Roshibina began formal martial arts training under M. Premkumar at the SAI Training Center in Imphal.
- Naorem Roshibina Devi cried while speaking to a news channel as she was disturbed by the unpleasant and violent situation caused by the ongoing racial violence in Manipur. Her town of Bishnupur is one of the worst-hit towns, which makes her win at the 2022 Asian Games both a happy and sad event. She said in the interview,
Anything can happen. I’m worried about my parents and siblings. ”
- Before starting her martial arts journey, Rosibina tried boxing; however, in her late teens, she participated in district-level martial arts competitions and fell in love with the sport.
