Nashawn Breedlove, rapper and actor who starred opposite Eminem in the 2002 film 8 mileshe died at 46.
A family member told TMZ that Breedlove died in his sleep Sunday at his home in New Jersey. The cause of death is still unknown.
His mother Patricia confirmed his death on Facebook, writing “Nashawn was a rapper, singer, songwriter and actor. No one could dispute his talent. Nashawn’s passing from this world has left a huge void in my life, one that words cannot fully describe. I can’t describe the pain and hurt I feel in words. He was not only my son; he was an extraordinary man whose character and strength inspired everyone who crossed his path.”
Breedlove was best known for his role as Lotto, one of the opponents of Eminem’s character B-Rabbit in a rap battle. 8 miles. In the film, Lotta rapped, “I feel bad that I have to kill that guy from Leave it to Beaver” referring to Eminem, who ended up winning the showdown.

Ago 8 miles, Breedlove went by the stage name OX and was featured on the 2001 soundtrack Washing starring Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg.
Fans and loved ones paid tribute to Breedlove on social media, remembering Breedlove for his talent and charisma.
Rapper Mickey Factz shared a video of Breedlove rapping 8 miles on Instagram, writing “RIP to one of the few emcees to beat Eminem… 8 Mile Lotto. Whose friends lovingly called him OX. You will be missed for your tenacity and aggressiveness.”
“The first mc to be robbed of a win in a rap battle!” rapper Daylyt wrote in the comments section, adding “Rip lotto.”
“I met Ox when we were teenagers,” the user commented. “He was in a group called The Now. Worst (sic) group of hosts I have ever met in my damn life. They SMOKE my group in the window contest, but they were humble and cool. Ox stood out. Super good man.”

Latisha Harper, Breedlove’s ex-girlfriend with whom she shared a son, also commented on Factz’s post. She wrote that he “was so humble” and “didn’t even know he had real fans”.

“He was so talented,” Harper continued. “Not only Wa (sic), he is an amazing MC, he sang better than Luther. I was blessed with my son @youngzaak and I swear it’s Nashawn to the 10th power. I will always be his biggest fan. If only he knew his talent 🙌please pray for our strength that is needed. Thanks again @mickey.factz.”
The couple’s son, Zaak, 22, shared a photo of his father from 8 miles on Instagram in a heartfelt post.
“RIP to my father,” he captioned the post. “Legend of Hip Hop.”
