Nasty C was born Nsikayesizwe David Junior Ngcobo on Tuesday, February 11, 1997 (23 years old in 2020) in Diepkloof, Soweto, South Africa. He was raised by his father in Durban, South Africa after his mother died in a fatal car accident. He began rapping at the age of nine and completed his high school education at Allen Glen High School in Roodepoort, Johannesburg.

On May 24, 2013, 16-year-old Nasty C released his debut mixtape, One Kid a Thousand Coffins.
Later, he released a mini album titled LAME (Levitation Above My Enemies) in 2014. In 2015, he released a mixtape titled Price City which contained a song titled Juice Back, which earned him huge recognition.
He subsequently released his debut album Bad Hair under the Mabala Noise Entertainment label in 2016. Bad Hair became one of his most notable albums, peaking at number one on the iTunes local charts and becoming the most streamed album in South Africa within 24 hours of its release.
On 2 December 2016, Ngcobo released Bad Hair Extensions, an extended version of his album Bad Hair, which contained four new songs, including the lead single “Allow”, for which he won several awards at the 16th Metro FM Music Awards. He has since released several albums, such as Strings and Bling (2018) and Zulu Man with Some Power (2020).

- On June 5, 2020, Nasty C collaborated with American rapper TI to release the song “They Don’t”, which explores racial injustice. The lyrics mention the death of African American George Floyd, who died during his arrest by a white police officer named Derek Chauvin in Minneapolis, USA.
