Natalie Morales Rescues a Blue-Eyed Puppy on The Talk

Natalie Morales’ four-legged family just got a little bigger!

During Friday, May 24, the segment of Conversation, host introduced Frankie, a puppy she adopted from Best Friends LA Pet Adoption Center after filming the segment — and fell in love.

Morales, 51, stopped by an animal rescue organization to help, prompting her to recall her first job as a teenager at a local pet center. While she said that early gig didn’t pay a lot of money, it taught her “so much” about her love of animals.

After her pre-taped segment at the adoption center aired, Morales introduced the pooch on her lap. “This is little Frankie, I named her Frankie because of her blue eyes, Frank Sinatra. A little girl, but look at her eyes,” she said, pointing to Frankie.

Dog diary: Natalie Morales meets her new rescue dog

This is not the first time that a TV personality has fallen in love with a dog at work. Morales joked that he had a “habit” of adopting pets on national television. “I adopted Zara when she was at Today’s showI adopted Obi when he was at Access, and what do you think, Frankie? Do you want to go home with me?”

In 2011, Morales adopted Zara, and in 2019 he took home Obi, a spaniel-terrier mix.

She joked that she had to make a “high-pressure call” to her husband, Joe Rhodes, to make sure another puppy at home would be okay. Morales continued, “She’s going to have a great home with two other dear rescue siblings, so I’m excited to introduce her.”
