He is survived by his beloved children and in-laws, Laura and Terry Huff, Liz Katz and Ricardo Hernandez, Sue Immerman and Tom Kenney, and the late Anita Schwartz and Bradley Schwartz, as well as the late Mark Immerman and Robin Freedenfeld.

Nate served in the Navy as a paramedic and later became a dentist while raising his family. He was previously married to Lee Parker Katz, who sadly passed away in 1974. Together they had two children and chose to raise them in the Washington, DC area, where Nate worked as a family dentist.

In 1972, Nate married Ruthe Turover Katz, who passed away in 2011. In his later years, he was fortunate to have a loving stepmother named Lisa Grundwag and a brother named Stanley Kotler. Nate spent his childhood helping out in the family grocery store located on the corner of 23rd and N Streets, NW. In 1948, he received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the Georgetown University School of Dentistry.

Nate had a passion for exploration and adventure. He was an avid runner and nature lover who had traversed the globe, from the lowest points such as the Rift Valley in Israel to climbing the Himalayan peaks in Kathmandu.
