Giddey told reporters Friday that “I have nothing to say right now.”
The NBA is currently investigating allegations that Josh Giddey of the Oklahoma City Thunder had a relationship with a minor, a league spokesperson confirmed to multiple media outlets.
NBA spokesman Mike Bass confirmed to The Athletic, which first reported the news, that the league is investigating the allegations against Giddey, 21, which first surfaced on social media.
NBC News also reported on the investigation, noting that Bass “offered no additional information” when called for comment.
Both the NBA and the Oklahoma City Thunder did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment on Saturday.

According to the Associated Press, an anonymous social media user — who has since deactivated his account — claims Giddey is shown in photos and videos with a high school student.
Both Giddey and Thunder coach Mark Daigneault declined to comment to reporters during Friday’s practice.
“I understand the question, obviously, but I have no further comment at this time,” Giddey he told reporters.
“I understand people’s question, I completely understand that you want to know about it, but I don’t have anything to say right now,” he added after being asked again.

Daigneault, asked if he thought Giddey could be a “potential distraction,” noted that “personal thing.”
“And I have no comment on that,” he said. “And that will be my response to anything related.”
Giddey, who grew up in Melbourne, Australia, was selected by the Thunder with the sixth overall pick in the 2021 NBA Draft. He is currently averaging 12.3 points, 5.7 rebounds and 4.5 assists per game while his team record is 11-4. .
The Thunder’s next game is at home against the Philadelphia 76ers on Saturday at 5 p.m.
