Despite being a fan favorite for her role as Abby Sciuto on NCIS, Pauley Perrette left the show on season 15 in 2017 – but how was the character written and was she killed? Find out here…
In the final two seasons, One Step Forward and Two Step Back, Abby arrives at a restaurant with Clayton, where the two are pointed guns at. While Clayton was killed, Abby survived the murder, and it was later revealed that she was the victim of an assassination plot by Robert King.

Abby tries to recover and helps NCIS take Robert down by pretending to poison him with cyanide and only giving him the cure after he confesses. However, after the experience, he decided to leave the team once and for all.
Speaking of her role in The Talkback, she said: “It’s been an amazing journey, this little fictional TV character. It was huge and overwhelming for young girls around the world, in every country in the world, over the course of 15 years, to reach out to this TV personality.

“It makes math and science not only a viable plan for children, but it also makes the subject accessible and enjoyable. And that inspired these girls, it was so touching.”

However, Pauley’s departure did not go entirely smoothly as she is said to have left the show due to growing tensions between her and host Mark Harmon. It was assumed that crew members were injured by Mark’s dog that he was bringing to the set, and Pauley complained about the situation.

Tweeting about the situation, she wrote: “Perhaps I was wrong not to ‘break the glass. Tell a story, TRUTH. I felt I had to protect my crew, my job and so many people. But at what cost? I do not know. Just know, I’m trying to do the right thing, but maybe keeping quiet isn’t the right thing to do when committing a crime.”
She added: “I supported Ant[i]- Abuse the program forever. But now I KNOW because it’s me! If it’s school or work, where do you go? That is terrible. I leave. Multiple physical attacks. I REALLY get it now. Keep safe. Nothing is your safe value. Tell someone.”

At the time, CBS released its own statement: “Pauley Perrette had a great run on NCIS and will be missed by all of us. Over a year ago, Pauley came to see us with a We have taken the issue seriously and have worked on a solution. We are committed to creating a safe work environment in all of our performances. .”
In 2019, Pauley once again alluded to the situation, quashing any reports that she would be returning to the show. She tweeted: “NO, I’m NOT BACK! NEVER! (Please don’t ask?) I’m so scared of Harmon and he attacked me. I have nightmares about it. I have a new show AN FULL & FUN! You’ll love it! #HappyPlace I love you all!”
