Nothing worked. No one called me. It went on and … [taken up jobs such as] Production work, commercials, live production, etc. I was a junior copywriter for an advertising agency. I sold books door to door for many years. I taught classes to students, door to door, all over the city. All kinds of courses: elocution, public speaking, math, English. There I learned something very important in life: humility. My self-esteem was crushed because I was crushed by everything that happened to me. You can never [imagine] Doors will be shut, you will be abused, you will be pushed, you will be kicked, a lot of things will happen to you. And it’s not one year, two years, but ten, fifteen, eighteen years. This is where the survival problem comes in, and I start teaching [acting]… Because when you’re being abused all the time, you lose confidence in yourself. You think, ‘If you don’t leave now, you’re going to get sick.’ Because you can’t take this torture every day.”
