In June, Harris, 50, opened up about parenting the teens, telling PEOPLE, “They are the most agile, amazing, bright beacons for us and [they’re] exhausting in every way. They simply keep us on our toes and fill us with love and joy.”

Burtka, 48, doesn’t expect too much change as the twins become teenagers because she thinks most of the adjustment has already happened.

“I feel like we already are [parents to teens],” he said. “New York kids grow up a lot faster than the rest of the world. But you have to roll with it and let them go. Let them be what they’re going to be. I don’t think anybody tells you when your little kids are growing up that you have to let them go.” . That was the most difficult for me.”

In July, the couple brought their two children to Tokyo Disney to celebrate Independence Day. “Happy 4th of July everyone,” Harris said in a video posted to his Instagram.

“I’m here with my family and we just want to say Happy 4th of July. We’re on the other side of the world right now,” he said as he panned the camera to reveal the castle at Tokyo Disney.

“We’re in Tokyo Disneyland … how do you say happy 4th of July?” Harris asked their Disney tour guide.

The guide answered Harris in Japanese, to which Harris thanked him in the same language. “Arigato Gozaimasu, Happy 4th of July!” Harris and his family said to the camera.
