I never wore sleeveless clothing growing up because I was so insecure about keloids. Even when sewing school uniforms, I make sure they are long-sleeved. I am so embarrassed that this scar is so ugly and huge. We attended this private school when we lived in Delhi. I was in my second year at the time and I was in a play and my costume exposed the scar. Oh my God! As if being a dark-skinned Tamil girl attending a wealthy private school wasn’t bad enough, it turned into a nightmare when the kids who used to bully me saw my scars. I remember a girl sitting next to me yelling “EW!”

She also revealed that her maternal grandfather sexually abused her when she was 11 years old. In the same post, she shared that she was chased by a man while returning home from get off work late at night.
