Yerin Ha remembers exactly where she was when she found out she got the latest clue Bridgerton!
On Monday, Sept. 30, Shondaland — the production company that’s home to the hit Netflix series — released a YouTube video in which the Australian-born actress, 29, and her co-star Luke Thompson answer some burning questions about themselves, as well as show off.
More than halfway through, Ha, who was cast as Sophie, was asked what kind of reaction she got from friends and family when she found out she got the part.

“So when I got the part, I was having breakfast with my mom at a cafe in Korea and I went out and it was so funny because she kind of knew right away when I was jumping around the streets of Gangnam [a district in Seoul, South Korea] that I got the part,” Ha said as she sat next to Thompson, 36.
The news elicited an overwhelmingly positive response from Haa’s mother, although the couple had to leave soon after.

“She came out crying, and then after the phone call she said, ‘We have to go home. I think I have indigestion,’ and so we left,” said the Korean actress, laughing with her co-star.
Ha continued, “It was really nice in a way, I guess to share that moment with her.”

Further, Halo the actress recalled sharing the news with one of her closest friends, whom she told via FaceTime.
Ha acted out her friend’s reaction, showing her putting the phone down and seemingly in a state of shock – but extremely happy nonetheless.
“She was just like, ‘Oh my God. It’s your turn Bridgerton!’ ”

As Ha says, she could not have wished for a better reaction from her loved ones.
“It’s so nice to have people who really love and support you,” she said, adding that those in her corner are happy to see her grow on her journey.

Her role was announced in August, followed by a 30-second teaser that was shared BridgertonX (formerly Twitter) account on 9/11.
“Dearest gentle reader, as preparations for the next social season are almost underway, we extend a warm welcome to the newest member of the Ton… Introducing Yerin Ha as Sophie in Bridgerton Season 4!” the post read.
In the clip, Ha is alone in a room as she walks toward a rack of clothes — gloves and gowns perfect for the Regency era.
4th season Bridgerton focuses on the second oldest brother in the family, Benedict Bridgerton (Thompson), and his love story with Hao’s Sophie. Seasons 1-3 of Bridgertonand its spinoff, Queen Charlotte: The Bridgerton Storyare broadcast on Netflix.
