When Hamm appeared on iHeartRadio A table for two podcast in the days leading up to his June wedding, the actor called his marriage “an exciting part of life and it’s a signpost and a signifier of the next chapter and phase [of life].”

“Ideally, it gives you and your partner a sense of stability and comfort and an ability to identify that’s better, deeper, richer than ‘that’s my girlfriend’ or ‘my boyfriend’ or what have you,” he told Time host Bruce Bozzi. While Hamm said during the episode that “all the little things of planning [a wedding] and dealing with it can be numbing,” he noted that he felt “kind of calm [that] got the better of me” in the days leading up to the ceremony as he began to think about what marriage would mean for his life.

Hamm recently appeared on the latest season of Apple TV+ Morning show; will also star in FX’s upcoming fifth season Fargo.
