Profession
As an Army officer
After graduation, Nick joined the United States Army in May 2013 and was commissioned as an Infantry Officer; he served his first year at Fort Benning, Georgia, completing the Infantry Officer Course, Ranger School, and Airborne School.
At the time he was stationed at Fort Hood, Texas, serving as an infantry platoon leader.
He was later stationed in South Korea, where he spent much of his time developing his career. Nick retired from the military in 2017.
As an Entrepreneur
He began his career as an entrepreneur by making pre-workout supplements and selling them in college. During his final year of college, USAA, the military bank, offered loans of up to $25,000 to graduating ROTC cadets. He used the loan to start his own company, Bare Performance Nutrition (BPN), in 2012. He first worked with a U.S. manufacturer to formulate, produce, and test his first two products, Flight (pre-workout supplement) and Intra-Flight (branched-chain amino acids).
While serving in the military, he began building a social media presence, which ultimately helped his business grow. In 2012, he created his YouTube channel. In October 2014, he uploaded his first video titled “Full Day of Eating.”
His main motive for creating a YouTube channel is to bring public attention to his brand. In 2020, his YouTube channel has more than 536,000 subscribers.
After retiring in 2017, he turned his full attention to BPN and grew his brand into a multi-seven-figure business in the sports nutrition and dietary supplement industries. BPN now also sells shirts, shaker cups/water bottles, bags, gift cards and duffel bags.
Later, Nick created the Embrace Badness program, a 12-week training program that mimics Nick’s training style.
Other works
In 2020, he published his book, The 25-Hour Day: Take a Little More Time to Get What You Want.
In 2015, he created another channel called Bare Performance Nutrition where he started his Bare Performance Podcast. This YouTube channel is also a platform for him to share the BPN story and promote his products.
