Insiders said BBC bosses have given Nick, 62, a week off in the hope he can recover.

But he was cleared to dance this afternoon and will now perform with professional partner Luba Mushtuk.

Nick spent Tuesday meeting with doctors and discussing the extent of his injury.

A source said: “Nick is delighted to be given another chance to get back on the dance floor and is focused on his recovery.

“Nick is in the best of hands and will be focused on getting better before he returns to training.

“He’s absolutely loved his Strictly experience so far, so he feels incredibly lucky to know he’s still part of the show.”

The Sun told how Nick was forced to have an emergency MRI of his arm after injuring himself while changing a tyre.

It happened a day after his first live performance with his professional dancer Luba.

The dad-of-two is now being supported by his fiancee Katie Dadzie who has been by his side during appointments with doctors.

THE SHOW GOES ON

Nick and Luba are scheduled to perform American Smooth for Blur’s Parklife on Saturday.

Strictly spin off show It Takes Two has confirmed it is returning.

Janette Manrara said: “Earlier this week Nick Knowles revealed he had injured himself while changing a tire on his car and was unsure if he would be able to dance on Saturday.

“We have an update that Nick has been training with Luba again and will be dancing the American Smooth this weekend.

“Great news, we can’t wait to see it. But next time, don’t change the tire yourself, Nick. Get someone to help you!”

He also appeared with Luba on Instagram on Thursday night and confirmed he would be back, telling fans: “So just an update because look how excited my dance partner is.

“That’s because YES we got approved on Saturday.”

They appeared on Strictly spin off show It Takes Two on Monday night and Luba said she was sure they could work through Nick’s injury.
